Anker unveiled a solar-powered beach umbrella

Anker, widely recognized for its power banks and charging accessories, has a diverse product lineup that spans everything from 3D printers to smart scales. At CES 2025, the company unveiled its latest innovation: the Anker Solix Solar Beach Umbrella. This versatile, freestanding shade not only provides relief from the sun but also charges devices like your phone or Anker’s EverFrost 2 cooler.

Much like a standard beach umbrella, the Solix is portable, collapsible, and designed to shield against rain (with an IP67 waterproof rating) and excessive sunlight. However, what sets it apart are the flexible solar panels embedded to its canopy.

Anker highlights that the umbrella’s panels use perovskite solar cells, which deliver “30 percent better performance” compared to traditional crystalline silicon cells. This advanced technology enables the Solix to achieve a solar power output of up to 80W. While further details about its operation and pricing remain under wraps, the product aligns with Anker’s ongoing expansion into solar-powered solutions.

In 2023, the company introduced its Solix line of home energy products, featuring Tesla Powerwall-style backup batteries and rebranded portable solar panels and high-capacity batteries. Expected to debut in the spring or summer of 2025, the Solix Solar Beach Umbrella will become a part of this growing lineup, offering a unique blend of convenience and sustainability.
